21 JOIN the Kanguru family fun run on July 21, for R20 per person, at the Kanguru Home at 43 Garthview Road, Garthdale, Kliprivier. There is a 3km walk/run and a 10km cross-country run starting at 8am. Registration begins at 7am. Runners will be provided with coffee and tea before the run/walk. 31 HOPE Crosses Any Terrain (HCAT) is an initiative started by Land Rover South Africa with the aim to help people make more of their world. In line with this, Land Rover The Glen is currently running a Red Cross Hope Box Campaign until July 31. They are collecting tinned food, clothing, blankets, toiletries, towels, children’s toys, nappies, crayons and colouring books for children and any additional items which are non-perishable. Donations can be dropped off at Land Rover The Glen, corner of Victoria and Comaro streets, Oakdene. Should you wish to make a donation but cannot deliver, contact Michelle Marias or Melissa Grobbelaar on 011 682 5400 to arrange for collection.

2 IT is time for keen golfers and those who love having fun on the course to get their golfing buddies together for Amcare’s annual golf day. This year’s income-generating golf day will be hosted on August 2 at Reading Country Club with the format being a betterball scramble. Book your four-ball for R2 000 which will secure a golf workshop, halfway snack pack and dinner at the prize-giving. There will be a cash bar available. Carts and caddies are to be booked via the Pro Shop on 011 907 3666. There is also hole branding available on the day which is a great opportunity for businesses to create awareness. The community’s support in prizes will be most welcome. 3-5 IT is time again for Futura School’s Craft Market hosted on Friday, August 3 from 9am to 7pm, Saturday, August 4 from 9am to 7pm and Sunday, August 5 from 9am to 3pm at Sha-Mani Lodge, 30 Doncaster Road, New Market. Come and browse through the stalls with unique retail items and crafts from over 180 vendors, buy food from gourmet food stalls. A merry-go-round will keep the little ones entertained.
