What you’ll need to budget to build your home
Picking out property for sale in Glenvista and planning the build of your new home is an exciting affair, but to ensure that you don’t end up regretting it further down the line, we assist with your budget by giving you the average cost of construction.

After picking the right property for sale in Glenvista, the next step in building your dream home will be to work out the budget that is available to you.
This is not a simple task, and not paying this the required attention could come back to bite you. Running out of funds could result in an unfinished home and shattered dreams, but giving yourself the right amount of wiggle room can see you accomplish a true life goal.
To help you make an informed decision, we came across some information from Stats SA which has highlighted the cost of construction in provinces around the country, which could be helpful in determining what you can realistically expect to pay.
The good news is that Gauteng is not at the top of the list when it comes to being the most expensive province to build in. KwaZulu-Natal surprisingly takes that title, and with a whopping price tag of just under R10 000 per m2, you will need some fairly deep pockets to achieve your goal here.
However, before you celebrate, Gauteng is not exactly a cheap province to build in. It comes in at second place, but it is considerably cheaper with a per m2 construction price of R7870. To finish off the top three most expensive provinces, the Western Cape comes in at around R800 cheaper per m2.
This news may be surprising to you, and it got the same reaction from experts as Adrian Goslett from RE/MAX added, “While it is unsurprising to discover which provinces are the most affordable, it is interesting to discover that KwaZulu-Natal is more expensive than the bustling metropoles of Gauteng and the Western Cape where one has come to expect to pay a premium on most living expenses.”
