Edenvale singer returns to the music scene

The singer and songwriter from Edenvale burst onto the music scene in 2017 at 18 while in matric.

After a short break from the music industry, Vuyina (22) returns with new music.

Vuyina is expected to release her latest single, Leavin’ U, on December 10, featuring one of SA’s talented artists in Ricky Tyler. The single will be followed by a larger body of work on December 17.

The singer and songwriter from Edenvale burst onto the music scene in 2017 at 18 while in matric.

Her debut album, Journey, had song titles like Let You Be You and I Know, which blew up charts. Let You Be You made the number one spot on Tuks FM SA Top 10 chart.

The song was also appreciated by Jacaranda FM listeners, as they ensured the song returns on the charts weekly. It climbed up to the number two spot in the Jacaranda SA Top 20 chart.

Vuyina was widely expected to be SA’s next big hit, but things took a turn for the worst in 2018 when her production team disbanded.

As an artist trying to get her music career back on track, she suffered other setbacks, like many other artists did when Covid-19 hit SA shores.

While catching up with the youngster, she revealed she was still determined to make a comeback.

Leavin’ U will be available on all digital platforms.

“I like its name. The song is about leaving a situation or someone that is not good for you. So often, too many of us have stayed in situations or with people where it is like when you look back, you think ‘I should have left that long ago’. I think that’s something that resonates with everyone,” said Vuyina.
