South African Guide-Dogs Association for the Blind to host a music-filled afternoon
FOURWAYS – South African Guide-Dogs Association for the Blind is having an acoustics afternoon for the community to enjoy.
The South African Guide-Dogs Association for the Blind (GDA) is hosting five local artists and bands including Majozi, Georgetown, The Motherland, Zé and Jerry and The Bandits.
The association invites the whole community to bring their picnic blankets to enjoy an afternoon of good music and a variety of rustic artisan food and craft beer.
The event will be held on 6 August on 126 Wroxham Road, Paulshof, at the association’s grounds from 12 pm to 5 pm. Parking is free and secure at 127B Wroxham Road.
A woof out to potential puppy raisers at SA Guide Dogs
According to Michelle Immik from SA Guide-Dogs, the association would like to support local entrepreneurs and therefore regrets that no food or beverages will be allowed into the venue. Only working dogs will be allowed.
“Our Winter Acoustic Music Festival promises to be a fun-filled family outing for a cause. All proceeds will go towards the training of our guide, service and autism support dogs as well as the training of our orientation and mobility practitioners,” said Juliette Powell, marketing manager of the association.
SA Guide-Dogs Association for the Blind does not receive any funding from government and therefore relies solely on the generosity of members of the public as well as the corporate sector. The Winter Acoustic Music Festival provides us with the opportunity to raise funds and engage with the community,” said Powell.
