DA tackles gender based violence in Diepsloot
DIEPSLOOT - On 29 November, the DA in Gauteng will host an Imbizo with the community in Diepsloot as part of the DA’s 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children Campaign.

The imbizo follows a solution-driven approach and members of the community will be given practical steps in self-defence and information on means to combat violence against women and children.
Since September the township has been embroiled with the death of children. Three of the victims were raped before being killed by their attackers.
The workshop will take place at Diepsloot Community Hall from 9.30am to 11.30am
The programme includes an interfaith prayer for survivors of gender-based violence, a discussion on South African legislation on gender-based violence and what you must do by Rees Mann from SA Male Survivors of Male Abuse.
The Imbizo will include a community feedback and discussion session on violence against women and children, ending with a brief self-defense workhop.
