The last chance to register to vote
FOURWAYS - The 2014 national elections have been branded as a turning point in South Africa's democracy.
New parties such as the Economic Freedom Fighters under the leadership of controversial businessman Julius Malema are poaching public appeal with their on-going attacks on the ruling party. The Democratic Alliance has also proven its staying power with continued rises in the polls.
The ruling African National Congress maintains they are not out for the count. And while the last election’s strong entry Congress of the People (Cope) may have slipped in the polls, they are also fighting for seats in parliament. Agang, led by Mamphela Ramphele is also considered to have a strong chance to win votes.
The 2014 national elections celebrate 20 years of democracy in 2014, and are pivotal in defining the country’s future.

Any person over the age of 18, with a green bar-coded ID book, ID smartcard or temporary identity certificate will be able to vote.
