Douglasdale Business Forum plans clean-up
DOUGLASDALE - The Douglasdale Business Forum will hold a community building event at the corner of Witkoppen Road and Douglas Drive, outside the Douglasdale Police Station on 25 January from 8am.
Susan Mottram, chairperson of the forum explained that while the purpose of the event was to clean up the area around the intersection, it was also an opportunity for community members to meet and contribute to their suburb.
“We urge both new and established community members who are interested in a better Douglasdale to join,” she said.
On the day, the community and the forum will clean up and beautify the area by planting grass and aloes.
Mottram advised community members to bring along heavy duty black bags for the clean-up and gardening implements.
“Community members should mark their implements so that they don’t get mixed up by the end of the day and don’t forget to wear lots of sunblock and sunhats,” she said. “I’ve noticed that the Douglasdale community is very much against crime and grime and the Doulgasdale Business Forum is always looking for creative and proactive ways to eradicate these problems in our community. This event will serve to improve this gateway into Douglasdale.”
