Star vocal coach trains young diva

CRAIGAVON- Vocal coach June Kraus is grooming young diva Teagan McGinley for international success.

At just 10 years old McGinley has a voice that belies her young age. Last year she competed in the International Talent Showcase at Montecasino (Fourways Review, week ending 2 November 2013). At the showcase McGinley received an official invitation to attend The Arts expo in Orlando, Florida in June this year.

At the expo McGinley will perform and audition in front of 60 internationally recognised leaders in the music industry. She will also get the opportunity to attend more than 20 hours of workshops and seminars with leaders in the fields of dancing, acting and singing.

McGinley is counting on the expertise and support of Kraus to prepare her for what could be her big break.

Kraus is an accomplished artist who has performed 33 leading roles in the opera houses of Vienna, Nice, Verona and Salzburg. She trained at the prestigious Julliard School of Music and has sung for Nelson Mandela and FW De Klerk.

“I started studying music as a teenager,” Kraus said. “At the time people didn’t take child opera singers seriously, but this is changing. This shift in public perception has paved the way for young artists like McGinley to realise their dreams.”
