Steyn to wow at IGT Centruion
DAINFERN - Promising Dainfern golfer Keegan Steyn wows spectators as he shares the first round lead in the IGT Series Centurion.
Dainfern golfer Keegan Steyn (19), will enjoy the professional company of Michael Dreyer and Herman Minnie as the trio lead the field in the second round of the IGT Series Centurion on 2 March.
“I’m looking forward to a tussle with the pros because that’s what I need to improve my game,” he said.
Steyn said he enjoyed playing with the pro because it forced him to focus on his game. And after reeling in four birdies after bogeying the opening hole, he was pleased with his performance.,
The Dainfern amateur is ranked outside the top 100 in South Africa and has been putting in a lot of time with his coach, John Dixon to improve his game.
“John and I have worked on a few things, but I need to put it all together and get more consistent,” he said.
The leading trio are one shot clear of Tyron Mc Comb, Northern Ireland’s John McClean and Thomas Lovett, while a group of seven players lurk at two under par, including Jerry Steyn, Coert Groenewald, Antonio Rosado from Portugal, Ted Hendriks, Danie Pretorius, JC van Dommelen and Mauritian amateur Ludovic Bax.
