On the road to Two Oceans

KYALAMI ESTATES - The Kyalami Running Club is taking a trip to Cape Town to take part in the Two Oceans Marathon.

Gillian Keartland of the club said there were 30 members taking part in the run.

“This is a 100 percent increase from our 2013 entrants of 15,” Keartland said. There are 15 entrants in both the 56km race and 21km races.

Keartland said the club hoped for better weather this year.

“The last two years have been in pouring rain and gale force winds,” she said.

Despite the weather, men’s captain Anthony Tennant was the club’s first man home in the 56km race in a time of 5.11.9.

Sonja Ludick completed the 56km race in 5.21.52, as the club’s first woman home.
