Anyone for tennis
BEVERLEY- From 9 May tennis aficionados or those keen to learn the sport have a beacon of hope when Snickers Tennis Centre opens.

The doors will be open to all tennis players, kids and adults that are eager to play or learn. The centre will host social tennis on weekends and Wednesdays for adults, and junior club and training squads will take place on Saturdays. Players will also be able to compete in Gauteng central junior and senior leagues.
The centre is managed by Duane Armstrong, owner and director of Armstrong Tennis Academy.
Duane is a certified professional with the United States Professional Tennis Association and the South African Tennis Coaches Association.
Armstrong’s own tennis career has spanned a number of decades. He was one of the top 10 national senior players in SA, and in 2011 he was the Springbok captain for the over 35 team that competed in the 2011 World Championships held in Christchurch, New Zealand. He also was the chairman of Gauteng East Veterans Association and a member of the National Veterans Committee.
“I enjoy getting my students to achieve to the best of their abilities,” he said. “The first step is to get them affiliated to Tennis South Africa, and then I get them playing tournaments, so that they can work their way up the rankings.”
Armstrong said, “If you want to be number one in your age group, you have to train like a number one.”
The centre offers brand new floodlit tennis courts for leagues, socials, membership, fun events, tournaments and professional coaching.
