Dinesh Diar of Ad Outpost, the company which is advertising, said they had a valid contract with the landlords giving them permission to erect and advertise on the structure.
“We have a contract with the relevant authorities,” he said.
The City of Johannesburg was asked by Fourways Review if Ad Outpost had received permission to put up the sign, however they have not made comment available in two weeks.
The City of Johannesburg bylaws state: “No person may erect any advertising sign or use or continue to use any advertising sign or any structure or device as an advertising sign without the prior written approval of the city council.”
