Pets in need of a loving home

FOURWAYS - Four Paws Rescue Shelter for unwanted and abandoned dogs, based near Diepsloot, is seeking loving and caring homes for their beautiful animals.

The shelter rescues abused dogs and cats from township areas like Diepsloot. Manager Sacha Fraser has pleaded with the community to offer their homes to these unwanted dogs. She added that random home visits would be made for those who wanted to adopt.

Each Four Paws adoption costs an initial fee of R400 for cats and R500 for dogs. This charge covers the first vaccinations, sterilisations and de-worming. Fraser emphasises this is done because the animals deserve the best care and treatment; some of them have been through huge ordeals.

The shelter has successfully re-homed many dogs over the years and has continued to provide the attention and care that they need. This shelter does not promote euthanasia and is a pro-life organisation. Fraser stressed they do not turn away any animal.

The shelter often becomes a permanent home for the unwanted pets and has led to overcrowding.

Four Paws urges the community to open up their hearts and homes to these loving dogs, many of them have been left behind, and have been abused. The shelter offers advice before and after adoptions and overall support for these animals and their new owners.
