Rescue pups need forever homes

CHARTWELL - Ark Animal Centre is urging the public to consider providing an adorable rescue puppy or dog with a new lease on life and a forever home.

The centre is one of the leading rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing shelters in South Africa.

They are a non-profit organisation which specialises in the homing and care of puppies as well as pregnant dogs. The centre currently has a number of loving, playful and loyal puppies and dogs, like four-month-old Olive, a husky cross with unusually beautiful eyes and Charlie, a five-year-old pekingnese that will make a perfect lap dog.

Manager Tracy Otto said the adoption fee of R900 includes inoculations, a rabies shot, de-worming and sterilisation when the puppy reaches six months of age. The shelter relies on donations from the community to provide their canine residents with veterinary care, food and quality living conditions.
