Young driver races to success

FOURWAYS - Young Fourways-based racing car driver, Sisa Ngebulana (16), is on track to make it big in the world of racing.

Ngebulana is a Squadra Corse Junior Rok driver and earlier this year he was accepted into the McLaren Young Driver Development Programme.

Noticeable big name drivers that are enrolled in the programme include Formula Renault 2.0 rookie of the year, Nyck de Vries; Eurocup Formula Renault 2012 champion, Stoffel Vandoorne and current Formula Renault 2.0 champion, Ben Barnicoat.

The training provided at the programme will include physical training, nutritional advice and media and PR communication skills. The programme is renowned for producing drivers like Lewis Hamilton and Kevin Magnussen.

Later this month, Ngebulana along with four other Squadra Corse drivers and a number of South African drivers will head to Italy for the Rok World Finals. This will be his first time representing his country.

To prepare for his first international competition, Ngebulana spent a few days in Italy testing with the KGT Racing Team and getting used to the conditions. He feels confident he can make the country proud.

The Rok World Final will take place at the South Garde Racetrack from the 22 to 25 October.
