Things are heating up for Chef

SUNNINGHILL - After months of anticipation and hype, Sunninghill's Norman 'Chef' Wessels beat Gideon 'Juggernaut' Drotschie for the light heavyweight title at EFC Africa 35 in Cape Town.

It’s been a long, arduous journey for the Chef, but the end result was worth it. With a perfectly executed plan, Chef wore down his opponent to lead on points after each round. In the end a satisfying technical knockout gave him the title he so desperately wanted.

The icing on the cake was the fact that not only did the Chef hand Juggernaut a defeat in front of his home crowd, but he has now held two championships from different weight divisions, something extremely rare in the mixed martial arts circuit.

Chef recently signed with Soldierboy Management who helped him secure the right sponsors, allowing him to focus all his attention on his training and performances in the hexagon.

As the second champion from the Soldierboy Management stable of athletes, which also includes Douglasdale’s Garreth ‘Soldierboy’ McLellan, the company is extremely proud of this achievement by Chef.
