International pat on the back for Lonehill
LONEHILL - The suburb's beautiful, green streets and friendly neighbourhoods have received international recognition.
In a BBC Travel article entitled Living in 2015’s hottest cities, Johannesburg was selected as one of the most desirable cities in the world, not only to visit, but also to live in.
However, specific mention was made about the suburb of Lonehill.
The article quoted Crystal Espin, a Capetonian who had recently moved to Johannesburg, who said that the neighbourhood of Lonehill, located to the north of downtown, is a particularly active community where residents work to keep local parks clean and streets safe. “Lonehill is filled with lots of young professionals and families who like to live an active lifestyle,” Espin said. “Residents spend their weekends and afternoons walking their dogs, running, cycling and enjoying time in the park.”
The Lonehill Residents’ Association said the article was a testament to the fantastic community of Lonehill.
