An international first for motorcycle dealership
PINESLOPES – Fourways Motorcycles, situated on the corner of The Straight and Forest Drive, hosted their dealer launch of the new Kawasaki H2 motorcycle on 10 February.
This was part of a countrywide tour of the first H2 in South Africa.
160 people crammed into the dealership to get a glimpse of Kawasaki’s new flagship superbike, which is unique because it is the first-ever mass production motorcycle in the world to have a supercharger.
“We invited our clients and other superbike enthusiasts to come and see what is literally, in my opinion, the best bike in the world,” stated dealer principal, Riaan Fourie.
He continued to explain that the unique shape of the bike comes from the aerodynamic technology gained by Kawasaki’s Aerospace Division, which builds spacecrafts for everything from satellite launches to the International Space Station missions. It makes use of a green steel-trellis frame, which is unique for Japanese superbikes that traditionally make use of aluminium beam frames, but the trellis arrangement allows more airflow to help disperse the heat generated from the supercharger.
“The H2 will definitely revolutionise motorcycling across the country,” Fourie said.
The first shipment of H2s is expected mid-year, and will be priced between R300 000 and R330 000.
