Community challenges cops to a run
DOUGLASDALE – The Sector 1 Community Policing Forum has once again challenged the police to a road running race, which Brigadier Lettie Hugo of Douglasdale Police Station accepted with confidence.
The event, to be held on 13 September, promises to be fun for the whole family – and even pets are welcome.
Every year, members of Joburg police are challenged to a 10km run, in which the police excelled last year. The annual fun run is always highly anticipated by local residents and will start at Cooper College, the same venue it was held at last year.
The first race of the day – the big one between community and police – will start at 8am sharp, so community members should make sure they get there bright and early. The second race will be a shorter 5km fun walk, and for the finale, another 5km fun walk for pet lovers and their furry, four-legged friends will take place.
Runners, walkers and pet lovers can register online.
