Full of sports at Witkoppen School
WITKOPPEN – Annual prize-giving and sports day a huge success, read more.
Witkoppen Combined Farm School had their annual prize-giving on 30 November, but the school didn’t stop there in making it a memorable day for the children.
A sports day was held with the help of various sponsors to give the children a jump-start to active holidays.

The day was attended by the Douglasdale Community Police Forum (CPF) and Huddle Up, and many sponsors came together to celebrate with the schoolchildren on the school field.
The school would like to thank Future City, Abcon Trust, Milo, SuperSport, Leap Frog Properties, Fourways Crossing, and Builders Warehouse among many others.
” We are excited to have days like these, where children can relax after a year of hard work,” said Advocate Jean Berdou, a board member of Future City Fourways.
The schoolchildren were running around on the field after their prize-giving and were very excited about the Milo that they got. They were also queuing for ice cream on the hot day, approved by the teachers, and that seemed to be the highlight of the day.

The girls were very impressed by the women from Douglasdale Police Station who dressed up for the occasion in white shirts and pink tutus to play netball.
The young boys were on a high because of the SuperSport coaches who were there to show them some new moves and drills.
“SuperSport will be sponsoring a new soccer league for 2017,” said Berdou. He added that there are a few surprises that await next year.
