Pet Empowerment in the Townships has furry friends up for adoption

FOURWAYS – The Pets organisation has a number of dogs and cats up for adoption currently. Do you see your new furry best friend?

The Pet Empowerment in the Townships (Pets) non-profit organisation strives to empower people in townships and poor communities to better care for their animals, and also finds new homes for animals in need.

Volunteers work with the community to improve the lives of these disadvantaged animals by giving them daily meals, warm shelters, regular inoculations, sterilisations and vet care in emergencies and also rehomes those ones that are unwanted, unloved or lost. Here are some of the animals Pets has up for adoption this week.

If you are interested in adopting any of these dogs or cats, please email jhb@pets.org.za. You will then receive an adoption application which first needs to be completed and returned to them.

Hooch is a four-year-old male.

Pets will then arrange for you to meet the animal you are interested in and do a home check. If the home check is approved and you like the dog or cat, the adoption is approved. The adoption fee for both dogs and cats is R600 and includes their vaccinations, deworming, flea treatments as well as their sterilisation and microchipping.
