Maxwell Drive shuts down
SUNNINGHILL – St Peter's College was on lockdown but the school has reopened, parents can pick up their children.
Parents who have kids attending St Peter’s College off Maxwell Drive, Sunninghill, Sandton were urged not to pick up their children from the school after protests in the area.
Protestors blocked the road to the school, Fourways Review has been notified that all learners and staff are safe inside the school premises, while security is on-site with gates being locked.
Marketing manager at St Peter’s College Nosipho Nkosi confirmed the incident, “At the moment we don’t know what’s going outside but our learners and staff members are safe inside.”
Ward 96 councillor Candice James said the school has been reopened. “College Lane is opened again, protestors are still outside the old SARS exit at Edison Crescent. The protests seem to be calming down at the moment.”
It is unclear what the protest is about, local authorities are attending the area.
