16 – 23 August: 20th South African National Quilt Festival

South Africa holds a national quilt festival every two years, in different cities around the country. Stay with us for the week or visit daily. The best of South African quilting will be there.

Where: HeronBridge College

When: 9am – 5pm daily

Cost: Daily entrance is R50; Youngsters under 12 enter for free

6 October: SPAR Women’s Challenge Joburg 2019

The SPAR Women’s Challenge offers women from all walks of life, levels of fitness, shapes and sizes the opportunity to partake in a 5km or 10km road race (walk or run).Proceeds from the race are donated to Reach 4 Recovery, an international breast cancer support group. It is affiliated to the International Union Against Cancer.

When: 8am – 12pm

Where: Marks Park Sports Club, Judith Road Emmarentia

Cost: Entry fees are R100 for the 5km and the 10km. If you want to do the 10km and need a temporary license it will be an additional R30. If you enter online a small admin fee is applicable. Late entries will be charged at R110 each.
