Fourways soccer girls unbeaten

FOURWAYS – The girls' soccer team of Fourways High School ended this year on a high note without recording any loss.

Fourways High School girls’ first soccer team beat Beaulieu College 2–1 on September 30 to end this sporting year unbeaten.

Their final match against Beaulieu yielded a victory but not an easy one. According to the head of Fourways High School girls’ soccer Bronwyn Vorster, the talented Beaulieu side made the Fourways girls work hard for their victory.

Vorster and the first team coach, Unathi Mabena, saw this excellent season not only as a victory for the first team but also as a victory for the soccer fraternity as a whole. “The depth provided from a strong second team and developing juniors will ensure that girls’ soccer will continue to grow and improve in the years to come,” said Vorster.

She added that the four wins and a draw this season proved that the team was ready to play league soccer next year.

“It is such a privilege to have watched these young women grow and develop as players and a team that the school can be incredibly proud of,” concluded Vorster.
