#IMadeMyMark: Busy day for some voting stations in wards 115 and 106 (PICS)
FOURWAYS – Many residents in wards 106 and 115 took time to cast their votes in the local government elections.
Many residents in the Fourways area took time to participate in the local government elections in various wards on November 1.
The tent in Inchanga Road in Ward 115 was moved after it was initially scheduled to be at Crawford International Fourways. It proved to be a busy voting station. One voter, Felicity Clarivette, said it was disappointing to not be notified of the venue change, but was glad to use her voice in the vote.
“I’m just glad to have voted. I got here around past 10:00 and finished almost more than an hour later. I do think the venue change may have put people off from voting, but I hope not,” she said.
Moving to another Ward 115 voting station, Fourways High School was, in contrast, a much quicker voting process with few people at the station. Pineslopes resident, Mpumi Ndudim was excited to vote and said there were not many issues in her community.
“I think a big problem is definitely Eskom. While it’s a problem countrywide, not having electricity is a big problem,” she told the Fourways Review.
In Ward 106, many community members went to Norscot Manor Recreational Centre to cast their vote. A general feeling among voters was the ease and speed in which it took to vote. The venue was separated into four different areas based on the voters’ surnames.

“It was a very quick and seamless process. I did get a little confused when I walked to the one section, but I was shown where to go, and it was smooth-sailing from there,” said one community member, Buhle Dlamini.
