Man killed in head-on collision in Fourways
FOURWAYS – Another patient was transported by Emer-G-Med to the nearest hospital for further care.
A 30-year-old male has lost his life and another has been left in critical condition, following a horrific motor vehicle collision on the R114 near Heron Bridge on January 27.
Emer-G-Med paramedics arrived on the scene just after 08:30 to find the twisted frame of a light motor vehicle and a minibus taxi occupying the width of the roadway.
“On closer inspection of the light motor vehicle, a male was found to have sustained fatal injuries and was declared dead on arrival of paramedics,” said the emergency services in a statement.
“A second man was found in a critical condition and several advanced life support interventions were needed to stabilise him before he was taken to a nearby hospital for further definitive care.”
The South African Police Service was in attendance and will be conducting the necessary investigation accordingly.
