Over 30 suspects arrested in Douglasdale

The beginning of May saw over 30 suspects arrested by the efforts of Douglasdale police.

Between May 3 and 9, Douglasdale Police Station apprehended 32 suspects during operations conducted in the area.
Spokesperson for the station Captain Mpho Tshetlhane said the suspects were arrested for various crimes.

“The crimes ranged from attempted murder, assault [with intent to cause grievous bodily harm], pointing of firearm, common robbery, theft, dealing in liquor without licence, fraud, contravention of PSIRA [Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority] Act, possession of drugs and shoplifting,” she said.
Those arrested will soon appear in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court.

Police continue to encourage community members to keep reporting all criminal activities in their areas by phoning the station on 011 699 1300 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111. Alternatively, they can use the MySAPS app to send anonymous tip-offs or go to the nearest police station.
