A learner from Crawford International Sandton is a proud author of an illustrated book written for those aged two and older titled Animal Adventures.
The author of the book, Taylor Mae Ankiah (8) not only writes her own stories but also draws accompanying pictures that allow readers to travel to a world where animals can talk and share their life stories.
The young author used her talent and just started drawing and colouring different animals on different pieces of paper. Alongside these drawings, she would also make up her own stories about each of the animals. Some of these stories and animals include the strawberry cow to the happy koala and the two joyful foxes to the underwater family.
What began as a hobby, Taylor started writing stories and had always wanted to make something special for her three-year-old twin cousins. Taylor had the guidance of her mother and realised she wanted to share her stories with other children as well.
“My favourite part of these stories is creating something beautiful and sharing it with other people,” she said.
“Two children bought my book and couldn’t even wait to get home to open it.”
Her friends had also been impressed with her book and has her educational journey at the school to thank which aided Taylor to dream big, think outside the box and have the confidence to pursue her passion.
The author is currently working on her next book and is certain her passion for writing stories to inspire other young children and provide them with the chance to connect with imaginative animals will make them happy and give them hope.
Taylor’s book is available on Amazon Kindle.
