Pistorius and Le Roux will walk from Hartebeespoort to the Wits Donald Gordon Medical Centre for a meaningful endeavour to raise funds and awareness for Transplant Education for Living Legacies (TELL).

TELL is a non-profit and public benefit organisation dedicated to promoting organ and tissue donation. Pistorius will also be doing presentations at various schools and hospitals to share her story, and explain the importance of living donations, how to become an organ donor, and why blood donations are needed. TELL strives to create a society where every person understands the significance of becoming a living legacy through the gift of donation.

Lizl Pistorius and Monica Le Roux embark on a journey for a cause close to their hearts.

The initiative is one that is close to the heart as Pistorius is a living kidney donor, and Le Roux lost her husband due to kidney failure. Having personally experienced the profound impact of organ donation, Pistorius carries the torch of hope and compassion, inspiring others to join her in this noble journey by undertaking this walking challenge. Both residents aim to raise vital funds that will directly contribute to TELL’s efforts in achieving its goals.

This six-day expedition will commence on July 18 till July 23, each step taken will serve as a reminder of the countless lives that can be saved through organ and tissue donation. It is an opportunity for the community to rally together in support of this cause and make a lasting impact.

Residents are encouraged to make a difference and help TELL create a future where the gift of life is celebrated and cherished.
