Family raises funds for animal shelter in need
Everyone is invited to hopefully raise funds to buy the building the shelter in located in.
Out of the goodness of their hearts, the Daniec family is hosting a fundraiser in their home for All-in-One Animal Shelter.

The funds will go towards purchasing the building the shelter it is currently operating in. According to Paul Daniec, the owner of the building where the shelter is located is looking to sell the area and this will leave the animals homeless again. “Mary was trying to decrease the population of stray animals and if this building is not purchased the animals will head back to the streets,” he said.

The shelter is asking the community of Fourways to help them raise funds for this good cause. The fundraiser will be held in Kyalami. The founder of the NPO, Mary Kwembu, is pleading with the community to help her foundation. “I founded this organisation in 2018 with the intention of helping animals that have no homes. We do get food donations, but we are renting the space where our animals are located, and we need to save these animals by giving them a proper home.”

Kwembu started her journey by feeding stray dogs which have now grown to adopting them and putting them in a more comfortable space where they can eat, sleep and bath. “I love taking care of animals and I wish everyone had that mindset. My dream is slowly becoming a reality and I appreciate everyone who has been loyal to the organisation and kept these lovely pets fed,” she said.

“Mary is the most selfless person I have ever met. You can tell from her ambition that she is doing it for the animals and not for the money. You should see how she is with the animals. She treats them the way she would treat her own children. We are doing this to help her achieve her goal of turning the shelter into an animal home,” said Daniec. “My wife, Priscilla, and I will always find ways of helping people like Mary. If she was greedy, she would have a job that brings an income, but she goes out of her way to help these animals. She does not even care about the kind of phone she carries. She is honestly a great person.”

The fundraiser will cost R600 per person which includes live music, food, performances, etc. There will be donations from companies, some of these donations will be auctioned and the money will go towards this great cause. To RSVP you can contact 071 943 5540
