Douglasdale police record multiple arrests
Douglasdale police, together with JMPD, have recorded a string of arrests with suspects already appearing in the Randburg Magistrates' Court.
Douglasdale police have reported a series of recent successes in tackling crime across the precinct. According to Brigadier Veeshani Arikum, officers acted swiftly in several cases, including the arrest of a male suspect after the sexual assault of a minor was reported.
“The matter was reported at the Douglasdale Police Station and the suspect was promptly arrested,” Arikum confirmed.

In a separate incident, she said three suspects were taken into custody for tampering with essential infrastructure.
These crimes remain a serious concern as they disrupt vital services for residents and businesses.
Brigadier Arikum said a joint blitz with the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) also yielded results.
“The operation saw the arrest of 18 people for driving under the influence of liquor,” Arikum said, adding that road safety remains a top priority.

She said other arrests over the past week ranged from theft to assault. “All suspects have appeared in the Randburg Magistrates’ Court.”
