The Beaulieu College 1st rugby team embarked on an exciting tour to Mbombela, participating in the prestigious Penryn Rugby Festival.
However, the journey was about far more than the matches played on the field; it was an opportunity for the players to grow, both as athletes and as young men.

“The tour allows our players to test themselves against strong opposition,” said Lesego Tyebileyo, marketing manager, “experience rugby in a competitive festival environment, and represent the college with pride.
“We hope they return, not only as better rugby players, but also as individuals who have grown in resilience, discipline, teamwork, and respect for the game.”

The tour theme: Men of character, guided every activity and expectation for the team.
Players were reminded that their conduct, on and off the field, reflects the values of Beaulieu College. Integrity, humility, responsibility, and respect were highlighted as essential qualities, not just for rugby, but for life. Success, Tyebileyo said, is measured not only by the scoreboard, but by the way players carry themselves and support each other as teammates.

“They both shared personal insights from their professional rugby journeys,” said Tyebileyo, “emphasising the importance of hard work, perseverance, and strong character. Their presence, and words of encouragement, motivated the players to embrace the opportunity ahead of them, reminding them that success in sport is built on dedication, discipline, and the right mindset.”

The tour was made possible thanks to the support of sponsors such as Discover Sport, Servest, and Reef Business Solutions, whose partnerships provide critical backing for logistics, travel, and player development. “We are deeply grateful for sponsors who share our vision of investing in youth development, and helping young athletes reach their full potential.”
