31 were first timers, 25 recorded new personal bests, and representatives of 13 different clubs took part. Today’s event was made possible thanks to 16 volunteers.

Leading the field was first finisher Prosper Moyo, who crossed the line in 00:16:57. While pleased to take the top spot, Moyo admitted he had hoped for a faster time. “I was aiming for around 15 or even 14 minutes. On the road, I usually run closer to that, so I know I can improve.” As it was his first time participating at Lonehill parkrun, Moyo said he plans to return and use the event as part of his training going forward.

Also celebrating a significant achievement was Stephen Kessler, who reached his 100th parkrun milestone. “I’m feeling great about it. Participating in parkrun has helped me lose weight and improve my overall health.”

Suraj Valand, the weeks run director, encouraged all participants to officially register on the parkrun website. “It’s important, for safety and insurance purposes. When you register, you provide an emergency contact number. If something happens during the run, we know who to contact and how to assist.”

He added that, while the event remains free and open to all, proper registration ensures that organisers can better support participants in case of emergencies.
