Pick a Pekingese

LONEHILL - Pekingese Rescue South Africa in Lonehill is looking for homes for some of their dogs in foster care.

The news is not all dreary. The rescue’s Lorraine Smalberger said that two of the Pekingese, Max and Mia, who have been pictured in Fourways Review before, have been adopted together.

The non-profit organisation continues to rescue abused and abandoned Pekingese dogs but has many more dogs that it is trying to find permanent homes for.

One of these dogs is Ruby, a four-year-old female Pekingese who lost her eye after she was attacked by another bigger dog. Smalberger said, “She is a gorgeous girl.”

There are a range of Pekingese dogs of all ages to foster, some of which should be homed together.

The dogs will be sterilised, de-wormed, vaccinated and micro-chipped before they are adopted. A home inspection will also be completed before the dogs may be adopted.
