Unity College celebrates fun day

BROADACRES - If soup is soul food, there was a whole lot of soul at Unity College in August.

The special needs school’s events committee and staff members organised a fun day and among the guests was Mrs Commonwealth, Anel de Swart Strydom. She was joined by Connie Methven, a grandmother of a pupil at the school, to judge in the best soup of the day competition. The prize went to Aileen Kennaugh and Twanay Lawie.

Unity’s Parent-Teacher Association sold doughnuts, muffins and cold drinks to raise funds along with a raffle competition.

The pupils released their energy and excitement on the Gladiator castle, roller ball, and tapped their feet with their parents in a line dance.

Pick n Pay Douglasdale sponsored a cake for the attendees to enjoy.
