Botshabelo’s newest baby

BOTSHABELO has a new arrival in the form of little L.

Fourways Review cannot reveal the full name of little L, because she is a child of the State.

Botshabelo is an organisation which cares for and educates a number of children from the areas of Midrand and Fourways.

Included in the organisation is the Botshabelo babies home which cares for 12 to 15 babies at a time.

The home was opened in 2000 in response to the plight of babies being abandoned in hospitals or left to die due to poverty and HIV.

General manager, Jenni Bremner said, “L came to us a week ago. She was born four weeks premature. She gained 40 grams during the 17 days that she was in hospital and since being with us has gained 240 grams.”

The aim of the Botshabelo babies home is to actively try to get every child in a family, either through reunification, fostering or adoption.
