Needy pups get filled bowls
CHARTWELL - As part of the Believe campaign, Cell C and Pick n Pay teamed up to donate 1200kgs of dog food to shelters across Gauteng in December.
Ark Animal Centre was one of the shelters who benefited from the campaign, when volunteers from the network provider visited the centre in Chartwell to do their handover, and give a helping hand to the ongoing maintenance at the centre.
With treats and toys ready, the volunteers faced endless puppy hugs as they played with all the dogs at Ark Animal Centre, before helping to plant vegetation around the garden.
Volunteers also had the fun task of bathing new puppy arrivals to treat them for ticks and fleas.
Cell C executive head of marketing, Doug Mattheus said, “Cell C is proud to be a part of an initiative that can make a difference to these shelters. After all, a society that protects and cares for the welfare of its animals, is a healthy society.”
According to him the network giant wanted to give the furry friends a reason to enjoy the festive season as well.
“We also want to thank Pick n Pay for partnering with us on this project,” said Mattheus.
