Punchinellos hosts Chef of Distinction
MAGALIESSIG- Punchinellos restaurant at Montecasino and Laborie wines hosted a Chef of Distinction evening with chefs Matthew Gordon and Shirene Patrick.
Hosted by KWV wine development manager, Carolyn Carswell Munnik, the evening began with an introduction to the brand and the pairings guests would be tasting.
Chef of Distinction is a food and wine tasting evening that takes place once a month. This particular tasting followed the theme of fresh flavour and was accompanied by a selection of Laborie wines.
Gordon has built up an impressive career and has headed up kitchens at Sandton Sun and the Mount Nelson Hotel. He has won numerous awards over the past few years. He is currently the consulting chef to Laborie’s newly revamped restaurant in Paarl, and puts together menus that compliment the wines they offer. Every month Chef of Distinction presents a new theme and guest chef to the restaurant. Bookings are essential.
