A flicker of hope in electricity woes

BRYANSTON- An open platform to chat and shout about power outages.

Pitch-dark streets have been common this winter as power outages plague the City of Gold.

Endless complaints from home and business owners flood social media as they berate the city, and the national electricity supplier.

Answers on why there are blackouts are often scarce. Even ward councillors struggle to get the answers to when and where outages will take place from those in the know.

It seems that Eskom or City Power are not talking about the issue, as there is no clear or definite answer on when and why blackouts are occurring.

A well-oiled team of ward councillors for Bryanston and surrounds is inviting residents to a public meeting to discuss the latest blackouts that left their wards in the dark.

Representing Ward 106 is Stephen Moore from the Sandton North constituency.

Fourways suburbs under Moore include Blandford Ridge AH, Blue Heaven, Bryanston East, Bryanston Ext 16, Lonehill, Magalies View AH, Magaliessig, Palmlands AH, Paulshof AH, Petervale, Pine Slopes AH, Rivonia, The Woodlands Ext 1 and Woodmead.Representing the Sandton constituency are councillors Mike Wood, Vincent Earp and David Potter.

Their meeting takes place on 1 July from 6.30pm to 8pm at the Bryanston Country Club.

The main topic of discussion will be power outages, but they hope to include a general discussion on service delivery in Johannesburg in the proceedings. endeavour
