DJ suspected of stabbing girlfriend

JOBURG- While police are hunting for 'disgraced' Jozi FM, the radio station wants him to hand himself over to police.

Daily Sun broke the news that police in Soweto were on high alert to find the DJ, a radio personality at Jozi FM.

Daily Sun quoted Warrant Officer Kay Makhubela from Jabulani Police Station, who said he allegedly stabbed his girlfriend. Her corpse was found by police with a stab wound on the upper part of her body.

Police are desperate to track down the DJ, and take him in for questioning.

Mpho Mhlongo of Jozi FM said, “It is with great sadness and shock that Jozi FM confirms that one of its own presenters is wanted for questioning with regards to the death of a woman at the Jabulani flats.”

“The radio station’s commitment to gender equality, protection of women and children is a matter of public record. On this day, we remain steadfast and unwavering in that commitment. We, therefore, convey our deepest condolences to the family, friends and relatives of the woman who died in this very tragic way,” they said in a statement.

While the station is aware that there is little known surrounding the death of the DJ’s girlfriend, they also called on the DJ to co-operate with law enforcement.
