Such a treat for Animal Ark
DAINFERN - Two Dainfern College pupils used their entrepreneurship skills to raise money for the rescue cases at Ark Animal Centre.
Ark Animal Centre is based in Chartwell and is the leading centre for the rescue and re-homing of puppies and mother dogs in South Africa.
Hadley Dickinson and Tammy Venter volunteer at the shelter on a regular basis; from their experience they came to understand that the rescue and care of abandoned puppies is an ongoing task. Dickenson and Venter explained that each day the puppies need to be fed and cared for so they decided to raise funds to help take care of them. They asked pupils at their school to bake and donate cupcakes and brownies and sold the delicious goods at their school Derby Day. Dickensen said that the event was a success and apart from raising some money for the shelter they also managed to raise awareness for Ark Animal Centre.
