Red carpet affair for guide dogs

MONTECASINO - The South African Guide Dogs Association for the Blind will be hosting their annual charity ball at Montecasino on 13 September.

Organised by Edith Venter, the ball is set to be a spectacular and elegant event. Dubbed as a red carpet affair, the event will be hosted at Montecasino for the eighth consecutive year.

The association is dedicated to improving the quality of life of people who are visually and physically impaired.

Sponsors MJ Event Gear, Bob Martin, Gideon’s Flowers and Functions and Môreson Wines are involved. All businesses have proven to be the association’s main contributors over the years and have committed to making the night a complete success.

The association has invited the public and corporate sponsors to purchase a seat or a table, a table of 12 can also be booked in advance. Ashley Hayden, the association’s SMS campaigner, will be the host and patron for the night.

Venter said the event is in aid of raising funds for a worthy cause. Money and proceeds will go towards a programme that trains dogs for the blind and deaf. The programme ensures the dogs are independent, mobile and are companions for their owners.

The event will include a three-course meal, a selection of wines and an evening filled with local celebrities and more importantly, the four-legged friends.

All tickets cost R1 000 per person or R12 000 for a table of 12, all proceeds go to the Guide Dogs Association for the Blind.
