Putting for glory
FOURWAYS - Golfer Stephen Marais has gained entry to the National Final to be held in September.
He qualified third in the Flight 0-5 at the World Golfers Championship at Zwartkop Country Club.
Marais said, “The whole experience has been incredible and very professionally organised, this is my second time qualifying for the National Final and this time I am going to make sure that my driver behaves.”
Marais will compete against other amateur golfers from KwaZulu-Natal and Western Cape and hopes to finish second to secure his place in the South African team. The tournament is open to all amateur golfers, over the age of 16 with an official handicap. The winners in each handicap flight will represent their country in a five-person team. If successful he will then compete against other amateur golfers internationally at the 20th commemorative World Final in November.
