Meerkats get in on the Halloween action
MONTECASINO - The meerkats of the Montecasino Bird Gardens proved that Halloween is not just for humans.
In the spirit of Halloween, the Bird Gardens surprised their resident meerkats with Jack ‘O Lanterns filled with their favourite treats, such as crickets and mealworms. The Bird Gardens decided to place the new items in the meerkats’ habitat as it is a great form of enrichment for them and encourages the meerkats to use their natural instincts to explore their surroundings.
The Montecasino Bird Gardens is open to the public everyday, including Halloween and Christmas Day. Through its children’s holiday programme and other special events, the Bird Gardens fulfills an important role in environmental awareness and provides a tranquil and fun-filled environment for the whole family.
