Green up Fourways

FOURWAYS- Douglasdale Business Forum's 'green ranger', Susan Mottram undertook another beautifying initiative.

This time around the pavements of Kingfisher and Alexander drives were given some much-needed attention. “I live in this area and it’s my responsibility as a resident to bring change to the environment I live in,” said Mottram.

Servest Landscaping, Montecasino and Sakhile Mkonza of Pretty Gardens helped Mottram and her team to plant shrubs and clean storm drains on the pavements.

“We have many pavements and sidewalks that have been ‘adopted’ by either residents or businesses that want to help maintain the gardens,” she said. “This is great as we can all live in a beautiful space, however this particular space has not been adopted.”

The forum encourages residents to be more actively involved in their community. “We need to come together and work as a team,” said Mottram. “As a forum we lead by example. We want our suburb to be a healthy and clean space to live in.”
