12 injured after bakkie and taxi collide

LANSERIA - TWELVE people were injured after a taxi and a bakkie collided on the R114 near the Lion Park on the morning of 18 May.

ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said paramedics found both vehicles on the side of the road and the occupants from both vehicles were walking around the vehicles when they arrived at the scene. Meiring said the injuries on the twelve patients ranged from minor to moderate. Some of the patients had been driving in the back of the bakkie, others in the taxi.

After the patients were treated on the scene, they were transported to various hospitals, including Helen Joseph Hospital for treatment.

Meiring said, “The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.”
