Quality food for dogs works wonders
FOURWAYS - Leading consumer goods manufacturer, Mars Africa held a media open day at the Woodrock Animal Shelter on 23 July.
The event was a follow-up to the Pedigree, See what good food can do, Project Juno campaign. Juno is a two-year-old abandoned dog who was surrendered to Woodrock Animal Shelter because she was in need of medical care. She weighed 7kg upon arrival in June and was in poor health.
The eight-week campaign will see the malnourished dog nursed back to health with the use of nutritious food, along with the assistance of veterinary professionals who will monitor the brave dog throughout her healing. Since Juno arrived at the shelter, she has been fed Pedigree pet food and her health has improved.
According to Rita Fernandes, marketing director of Mars Petcare, Pedigree is very proud to have partnered with Woodrock Animal Rescue in this initiative because this has enabled them to help the animals in their care.
She added, Project Juno is a good demonstration of what good food can do to the health and well-being of man’s furry friends.
“In under six weeks, we have transformed… Project Juno from a malnourished dog to a healthy, strong and energetic dog,” Fernandes said.
“Good food can change the life of a dog and increase its lifespan.”
