Tammy Menton, head of marketing of Steyn City, welcomed the women to the celebration, followed by an inspiring talk from media personality Leanne Manas, and a pamper session.
Manas shared her experiences of being a businesswoman and a media personality in the mostly male dominated media world.
According to her, being a woman is a special thing, and it is imperative that women know and acknowledge their true worth. She added that it was important for a woman to identify her role in society. Manas concluded by recounting her experience of conquering Mount Kilimanjaro, a Mandela Day initiative which helped donate sanitary pads to school girls across South Africa.
“The experience of conquering Mount Kilimanjaro has taught me that with hard work and dedication you, as a woman, can achieve anything,” she said.
