Driver shot with paintball gun in Fourways
FOURWAYS – Micki Pholosi's right eye could be permanently damaged after he was randomly shot with a paintball gun on Pine Road.
Staff at the Digital Experience shop in Fourways Crossing are appealing to the public to come forward with any information after one of the shop’s drivers was shot with a paintball gun in the Fourways area over the weekend.
Micki Pholosi (33) and his colleague Jabulane Shungube were driving on Pine Road at about 4pm on 22 October after making a delivery when a passing car shot at their vehicle with a paintball gun.
“Micki was driving a company car with his window open, while Jabu was in the passenger seat,” explained Digital Experience’s Terry Krcal.
“A car that was driving past just started shooting at them with paintballs going in through the open window. Both men didn’t get a good look at the car or the driver who did it because it all happened so fast.

“Micki’s right eye was hit by one of the balls and could be quite seriously damaged. Because he works as a driver, if he can’t see properly, he doesn’t have a job.”
Pholosi has been seen by two eye specialists so far, but the extent of his injury is not yet known.
While the paint itself is biodegradable and will not cause any permanent damage, it was the force of the paintball hitting his eye that could potentially cause lasting harm.
“Apparently the road was quite busy at the time, and we’re hoping that someone who saw something will come forward and tell us about it,” added Krcal.
“While we have opened a case of assault with the police, they can’t actually do much if there isn’t any information.”
If anyone witnessed the shooting or has details of the car’s make or driver, please contact the owner of Digital Experience on 011 465 1466.
