Minister of Police Fikile Mbalula outraged at robbery on 36 Dutch tourists

FOURWAYS - Mbalula to visit the 36 Dutch tourists who were robbed.

Thirty-six Dutch tourists who were robbed on 25 September while travelling from OR Tambo airport to Fourways on a megabus.

Mbalula condemned the robbery viewing it as an attack on the economy and tourism industry.

Police have confirmed that one of the men who robbed the group was dressed in police uniform.

According to reports the group, along with their tour guide and bus driver, were robbed shortly after arriving in the country and while en route to their hotel.

National police spokesperson Brigadier Vishnu Naidoo said, “We are extremely concerned that one of the suspects was wearing a police uniform. Therefore, we have assigned this investigation to a group of seasoned detectives from our National Investigation Unit (Ninu).”
